We whose names are hereunto Subscribed do hereby Certify that we very well know the within named Edward Forster and do believe him to be a very honest Industrious man and that we very well know the House in which he lived at the time the within mentioned Flood happened and were Eye Witnesses to its being near swept away by the late great Flood and the Distruction and Damage it occasioned to the said Edward Forster as within written and that we have also Examined the Account and Estimate within written and believe the same to be a true and Moderate Account and Estimate of the Damages the said Edward Forster Sustained by the said flood And that we have reason to believe the said Edward Forster by such loss has been reduced to no Small Difficulty and Distress And that it would be a real charity done to give him Relief on Account thereof As Witness our hands this third day of January 1772 John Watson James Mamsay I The Reverend George Busby Minister of the Parish of Hexham within mentioned do hereby certify that I believe the within named Edward Forster and also the several persons whose names are Subscribed to the above written Certificate to be very honest people, And that the within Written Account and Estimate is a true and Moderate one As Witness my Hand this third day of January 1772 Geo Busby Mins Robt Usher his X mark Edwd Forster Son James Mamsay his X mark
