We whose names are hereunto Subscribed do hereby certify that we very well know the within named William Dodgson Miller and beleive him to be a very Honest Industrious Man and, that we very well know the Mill within mentioned and were Eye Witnesses to the Damage done him by the late greatest Flood that ever was known in the River South Tyne and that we have also Examined the Account and Estimate within written and beleive the same to be a true and Moderate Account and Estimate of the Damage the said William Dodgson sustained by the same And that we have reason to beleive that the said Wm. Dodgson by such loss, will be reduced to no small difficulty and distress to support his credit and that it wou'd be a real Charity done to give him releif on Account thereof As Witness our Hands This Thirtieth Day of December 1771 Edward Tinling Thos. Hetherington I The Revd John Farrer, Curate of the Parish of Haltwhistle within mentioned do hereby Certify that I very well know the within named William Dodgson and also the several Persons whose Names are Subscribed to the above Written Certificate and beleive him and them to be very Honest Men, that I had not an opportunity of seeing the Damage done to him by the said Flood but very well know that the said William Dodgson is the Farmer of the said Mill and beleive that he suffered considerably by the said Flood and that the within Written Account and Estimate is a true and Moderate One as Witness my Hand this 30th Day of December 1771.
