1st & last | to the first and last Interries this Deponent saith that he knows the Parties Complainant | |||
and Defendants in the Title of the Interries named and hath known them respectively for | ||||
20 years and upwards-Saith that on the 27th Day of December 1783 he this Deponent for | ||||
and on the Behalf of the Complainant delivered to John Davidson Esqr Clerk of the peace for | ||||
the County of Northumberland an Estimate dated Sandhoe 10 Decr 1783 signed J Smeaton | ||||
of which the Paper now produced by this Deponent at the time of his Examination marked | ||||
on the Back thereof with the Letter ( ) is a Copy, and at the same time he, this Deponent | ||||
for and on the Behalf of the Complainant delivered to the said John Davidson a Paper dated | ||||
Red Rice Decbr 18 1783 signed Heny Errington of which the Paper now produced by this | ||||
Deponent at the time of his Examination marked on the Back thereof with the Letter ( ) is a | ||||
Copy which last mentioned Paper purports to be an Offer made by the said Complainant to pay the | ||||
Sum of 2925£ 17s. 5d in the said Estimate mentioned and at the same time this Deponent for and | ||||
on Behalf of the Complainant delivered to the said John Davidson a Letter from John | ||||
Smeaton Esqr to the said Complainant dated Sandhoe 10 Decr 1783 of which the paper now | ||||
produced by this Deponent at the time of his Examination marked on the Back thereof with the | ||||
Letter ( ) is a Copy, and which several Copies have been made in this Deponents possession | ||||

in Consequence of which last mentioned Paper this Deponent for and on the Behalf of the Complainant | ||||
attended at the General Quarter Sessions of the peace held for the County of Northumberland at | ||||
Morpeth on the 14th Day of January 1784 and was ordered by the Justices of the peace |

present at the said Sessions to wait upon them in a Room in which they were assembled, which | ||||
this Deponent accordingly did, and waited there until he was ordered to withdraw, and afterwards | ||||
on the same Day the said John Davidson informed this Deponent that he the said John | ||||
Davidson woud the next Day give this Deponent the final Resolution of the Justices in Writing | ||||
and Saith that on the 15th Day of Janry 1784 [ |
