And Whereas some doubts may arise upon the
Construction of the said recited order of the Court of
Sessions of the 14th day of January 1778 touching the
Power of rebuilding or repairing certain Bridges
within the said County which were presented by the
Grand Jury at the Assizes, or Sessions, as insufficient,
inconvenient, or in want of Reparation, prior to the said
order of Sessions of the 14th January 1778 to obviate
further
which Be it ⁁ enacted by the Authority aforesaid that
the Justices of the Peace, in and for the sd County
of Northumberland, for the Time being, shall and may
by themselves, or their Agents, Officers, Workmen, Servants
and others, rebuild or repair, any Bridge or Bridges
within the sd County, as County Bridges which have
been built, or repaired, at the Expence of the County,
as County Bridges, and of which Presentment hath been
made of the Insufficiency, Inconvenience or want of
Reparation, of such Bridge or Bridges, by the Grand
Jury, at some Assizes, or Sessions, prior to the sd order
of the Court of Sessions of the 14 Day of January 1778
And the said Justices at their General Quarter
Sessions of the Peace, or any Adjournment thereof
shall from time to time order and direct the payment
of any sum or sums of money, that shall be
received, and collected, by and from the County rate
and Assessments, And in the hands of the Treasurer
of the County, for the time being, that shall be
necessary, and requisite, for defraying the Expences
of rebuilding, or repairing, such Bridge or Bridges
